Inserting raster images

Hi,

I'd like to know if it is possible to insert (attach) raster images in
AutoCAD LT 2002 (spanish language if this makes a difference).
Reference guide is ambiguous, it suggest it is possible but does not show
how.
Online Help says it is, via "Administrador de Imàgenes" (Image Manager?) but
opening it everything is greyed, and the "Enlazar , desenlazar" (attach ,
unattach?) buttons are missing, I see how it can manage images already
attached using full featured AutoCAD, but it would seem either it can not
Attach new images or I am just missing how.

thanks much

Fermí

Fermi,

From the help file
"You must use AutoCAD to insert or manipulate the images in an AutoCAD LT
file, including attaching and detaching them."

I thought you were a viz guy 🙂

Thanks Joe,

spanish Online Help SAYS you can " Enlazar y desenlazar " ( attach and
dettach ) image files, it must be a typo... bit anoying typo though.

Yes, I am basically a Vizer :o)
If we were to be in the VIZ NGs I'd go to vizions and attach some screen
grabs :o)

but also a stubborn workarounder (if such a thing exists), found one
(workaround), minimal initial help from an full featured AutoCAD needed:

If you happen to have a file that already has a raster file attached (any
raster fiel, a single pixel will do).
Inserting that file in AutoCAD LT 2002 will bring the image into LT, since
the manager is fully operational, then you can change the path, name,...
etc.

;o)

The attach button in the Image Manager is only available in AutoCAD, not LT.
But someone forgot to remove the short cut key.
Use IMAGE command to get the Image Manager.
Then press CTRL+A to fool the lost Attach button :o)

Did I say "CTRL+A"? Make that "ALT+A"
Oh, I bet you use the spanish version of LT?
Then this tirck might not work.
Try some possible shortcuts for Attach in spanish.

Thanks Conny,

The shrotcut is not working for me CTRL+A (I am using spanish version of the
software) this may be because shortcut is a different one (don't have acces
to AutoCAD 2002 spanish to check what the shortcut would be, have tried
ctrl+E (enlazar) and some other letters without succes)

May be they "fixed" the feature in the tranlsated version, or may be it's me
who is underfeatured :op

Anyway, the "insert dwg" workaround is working for what I need :o)

At least until the workaround is also fixed :o(

cheers

Too bad QE will likely monitor the NGs and they'll likely use the scisors in
the next release, or may just be we are lucky, and they are hardly bussy at
someotherwhere :op
