I think that Dean hit the nail on the head. Most of the translation needs
to be done from their end. Other CAD programs (MicroStation and VectorWorks
most notably) translate the layer colors into entity colors when saved as
DXF or DWG. The Default linetype is also translated as "continuous" as
opposed to "bylayer". That means that all the information listed above is
not of a "bylayer" assignment, and needs to be changed as Dean noted. As
far as titling missing, perhaps they are using a font that does not
translate well using VW r8.5's DWG/DXF translation engine. (Perhaps that
font is not on your system and/or and needs to be redefined on your end.)
I know from experience that VW r10's DWG/DXF translation engine is better
than VW r8.5's. Happy translating.
