Editing Block replaced everything in Model Space

I was edditing a block, I saved it and closed the file. When I reopened the file, everything in model space was replaced by the block.

I would be interested in any advise.

Your title then description don't match: can you be more specific?
BTW, when you edit and change a block all instances of it in a file change: that's how blocks work

Hi Dean,

Thanks for following up. Basically I was edditing a block. I then saved and closed the drawing. When I opened the drawing again everything from model space was gone including xrefs. The only thing in model space was the block I was edditing and it had been exploded.

What do you think?

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't there a hotfix for that exact problem?

Yes ... >>>HERE<<<

It is for release 2012 .  Hope that is something that will fix your problem.

Regards,

DJ

Thanks DJ. I heard about this hotfix, however I am running AutoCAD LT 2010.

If you closed the file while you were still inside the block editor, a total sin by the way, I suspect you damaged the file beyond repair if you cannot close the editor back up again.

INSERT into another file might recover something, and worth trying.
