Automatically Create Dimscale Override

Hi there.

I am having exactly the same problem as described here:

http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=6784

Basically dimension styles continually override automatically and stuff things up.
How do I turn the overrides off?

I can't seem to find the drawing setup dialouge mentioned, nor is the command present in the registry. I'm at my wits end.

Thanks in advance

One drawing? Drawing from another source? If it's your creation did you start from a template?
In all cases it would be worth trying to WBLOCK the geometry without dimensions and having purged the override dimension style into a new drawing and see if that cleans it up.

Unless you are using an old LT version, -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command (note the
dash) fixes such files. So does the free viewer from Autodesk, using or
setting it it's EXPORT option.

Did you not notice they were talking about ADT, not LT?

Hi

I didn't realise they were discussing ADT, but it explains exactly what is happening to me. - Automatic Dimstyles overrides all over the place.

Its an old drawing, an even after purging the file, and WBLOCK, it still happens.

The issue is when I am dimensioning, and shift between views, the DIMSTYLE automatic creates/returns to an override style. I can then use match properties to get it back to the main style, but this is boring.

Now I've also got a situation where I need to dimension inside layout space, and I set the DIMLINEAR SCALE to reflect the viewport I am dimensioning off (1:50). The first dimension is fine, but subsequent dimensions (even when using the continue command) automatically go to an override style and increase the DIMLINEAR SCALE by a factor of 500 ?

LT2009 - and yes, its more than one drawings and they are from a template I made, but how do I stop this from happening at the template??

You do seem not to read posts in full LOL

once you re-read and try it, post back if the problem still remains.

Try bringing up the "Drawing Setup" menu by using the command "aecdwgsetup". Go to the "Scale" tab and uncheck "Automatically Create Dimscale Override".
