AutoCAD 2008 LT Grayscale and Colour Plotting

Hi All,

Here is my problem;
• Need to plot entire drawing in Greyscale, with that in mind I need to select X number of objects in the drawing to plot in Colour. So in the end I will have a complete drawing in greyscale and a selection of objects in colour so they stand out.
• Now, I know I can do this through the .ctb file but I have many colours/layers and many objects so this will take a long time to do.
• Is there an app or override option I can use to do this?
Many thanks for all the help

No, there is no quick fix, you will have to create and edit a CTB somewhere
first, and then perhaps edit entity colors too.

You can make a copy of the default GRAYSCALE plot style table to get
started.

Hi

a way to do this is to very precies draw with layers and set the colors "by layer".
Than you can very nice and easy change around your colours.
I don't know wether it also works in 2008, but at least in 2009 you can even change the colours of layers for single viewports.

But: the only way to have these possibilities is a good layerstructure and to draw everything "by layer".

Just to know, because in full AutoCAD there is a percentage options for screening the black as gray, but in my experience with LT, there traditionally has not been, do you print as if printing in color and let the printer or plotter handle the conversion to gray?

This is the LT 2014 Plot Style Table Editor:

AFAIK these same options have been avaiable in this editor for many versions.

Grayscale and Screening,

Bill, your info is about 8-10 versions too old my friend, and the OP needs a plot style table set to their specific needs.

Share one of yours if you wish, but walk them through what each pen setting is set to so they can adjust.

Thanks, Dean. Actually I'm currently using full AutoCAD 2010 and have
all the way up to 2013. It's just a question I want to know about LT.
A lot of people in Oregon are using it, including some of our clients.
So, I want to know a little more about their capabilities, since I don't
have LT myself. So, it's a relatively simple question: Does somebody
that is using LT have the ability to plot a grayscale plot and if so,
what does he have to do in order to plot grayscale? Does LT recognize
the screening value in a ctb file? or do you have to do a color plot
and allow the black-ink plotter software manage the screening of the color?

Thanks, Charles. That's what I wanted to know. I know that full
AutoCAD had them for a long time. But when I went to a clients computer
and attempted to plot with ACAD LT, and with my own CTBs, everthing came
out darker than midnight.
So, it's nice to know that is no longer the case.
Thanks again.

The free LT2014 trial wil let you test it exactly as you wish and find out: the behavior in LT2014 is no different than LT since I want to say 2000 but I'll leave that for others still using old software to confirm.

LT is AutoCAD, minus Express Tools, 3D, and some minor functionality a typical user can manage without, none are related to plotting.

And there is a Grayscale.CTB in LT
