2012 LT Area Command Problem

I'm having a intermitent problem with the Area problem on 2012 LT.

Most of the time after i've selected all the points i want to get the area of it won't let me enter Total. Sometimes after using undo and reselecting some points it will bring total option up, but most of the time i'm left with

  Specify next point or [Arc/Length/Undo]:

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks

Ian

Hi Ian,

Does this happen with all the files or only some?

Can you reproduce with a new drawing?

Did you install the service pack?

If you have the steps to reproduce with one of your drawings, please upload the file and explain what we have to do.

Cheers,

Luciane

How are you launching the AREA command? Are you by chance using a mouse button for <enter>?

If you press F2 (TEXTSCR command) does it show you've left or restarted, or managed to continue selecting with the AREA command?

The prompt you copied here is for would indicate you are either restarting or continuing in the command, nothing more. You only get the TOTAL prompt if you have clicked three or more points while in the command.

Thanks for the replies sorry for not coming back sooner

Now i've had chance to try different files it's happening on some and not others, all created from the same template?

Currently got SP1 installed

I've attached one of the DWG's its happening with.

I normally use keyboard input for the area command and i've tried using right click and return, neither have worked.

Doesn't seem to matter how few or many points won't give me total option even when i've got more than 3 points (i'm usually picking 4 points).

i'd be grateful for anymore suggestions

Thanks

Ian

There seems to be no problem with your file, I can perform the command with no issues.

Thanks for trying Dean

I've tried that file again and it won't give me a total unless i'm measuring a massive area.

Is there a minimum limit to the area command, even if you have more than 3 points?

Thanks

Hi Ian,

I opened your file with recover and it found and fixed 6 errors.

However, after that, I am able to reproduce the issue.

I then created a wblock from your drawing and inserted it in a new drawing created from scratch and the Area command works fine.

Cna you please check if inserting a wblock of your drawing into a new file helps?

I selected the objects with a crossing window.

Cheers,

Luciane

Luciane

Thanks for the suggestions

I've done a simple copy and past into a new drawing and that works.

I'll put this down to an error in some drawings

Thanks

Ian
