hybrid program

Has Autodesk ever considered some sort of hybrid program created from
Cooper, Alias Sketch, and Impression? THAT would be a really cool program.

That is an interesting idea. What kind of drawinsg would you create with this? How do you see the skecth functionality working with the drawing tools that are in Cooper today?

Well, I would use it for sketches/drawings like the attached images. Cooper
gives precise drawing abilities to layout the base and than alias sketch
would give sketching abilities to add in rough ideas. Impression would
allow it to be colored up nicely for presentation time. Also, Alias sketch
would give Impression the ability it lacks of being able to
stretch/deform/or otherwise morph things to give the impression of dimension
to a flat drawing. At the end of the day, Cooper entities could be directly
imported/edited in ACAD and the neato color/alias sketch stuff would
imported as a layered raster underlay.

I gotta tell ya, that is one HUGE tree in the picture. What do you plan to do to reduce it in size as in your finished product? It'd be a shame to chop it down and plant another one. trying to remove it would cost a fortune and the root base probably extends under that building it's next to.

Were you able to create the finished drawing from bringing the photo into Freestyle and tracing over it or what??

Yeah, the tree is quite large. The church is contemplating removing/replacing it or ch pping it way back. I think they would be better served leaving it, but it's theirs to do with as they please...

It was actually a 3 step process to the final product; Photo>Trace in Freestyle>Final render/touchup in Impression.

Depending on what happens with Freestyle and/or Impression it might all be done in Freestyle. Currently, raster object frames remain visible in Freestyle, so it's a no go right now.
