Project Cooper needs a name!

"Cooper" is a temporary designation. What do you think the application should really be called?

Please help us NAME THE SOFTWARE by choosing from a few options in this survey. Thank you!

You name it: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=sDjZfumZmi14Uu4E2e3VWA_3d_3d

Well, this looks kind of like Autosketch. I am actually wondering if it is the replacement for AS. So perhaps... Autosketch 20(xx) -->insert release year.

How about AutoBuilder or AutoCasa (like in italian). I thought of AutoDraw, but that might be confused with the Project Draw thing.

No more confusion.

I like the name Cooper but if you can use it then a name like cleandesk, cleancad, cleandraw to show how Cooper has a simple and clean interface. The name Cleandesk is a take off of Autodesk but it makes me also think of a clean desk, or a fresh start. Likewise with cleancad, but some users think CAD is too hard to use, while some may think draw is too much about art. Just some ideas, keep up the good work.

The name Autodesk came about because the founders were going to automate the
business man's desktop - what we know today as Microsoft Office. They
developed a CAD program instead and the rest is history...

Turns out (according to Scott Sheppard's post last year on it) that project Cooper is named after the Mini Cooper..

I only hope it's the original, iconic and groundbreaking design of the 60's rather than BMW's capitalising re-hash 🙂

As far as a new name is concerned..

How about 'Concept' ?

Personally, I see PC as the first stage of the design process, used by designers, engineers and more customer-facing staff to put together an initial design, for development by 'real' CAD operators later on.

It kinda fits with Autodesk's naming convention of having vaguely contextual names that describe what the product does, in broad strokes.

The alternative I though of was 'F ag Packet' ... 😕

Cooper is not a bad name, but it doesn't suggest anything. 'Who's this Cooper guy?' some newbies might be asking. You need a name that actually implies the types of things this software does. It helps you draw houses, buildings, habitats. AutoHouse? HouseCAD?

Sorry for the previous message. I mistaked it with another project. Cooper is slick and sharp. SharpCAD?

Is Project Cooper the new AutoCad FreeStyle? I like the name, it makes me think of Boomfunk MC's Freestyler.

Yes. Project Cooper is now the AutoCAD Freestyle Technology Preview. The team has come up with some excellent freestyle lyrics to describe our app!

I guess I need to add "Free Ride" by the Edgar Winter Group. Or perhaps
"Free Bird" y Lynrd Skynrd?
