Graphics hardware recommendation for Freestyle

Please be aware that even though AutoCAD Freestyle is an easy to use entry level program, certain minimum system and display requirements still need to be met to run and function correctly. For system requirements, see

Display devices must be able to support Pixel Shader 3.0 and DirectX 9.0. As a rule of thumb, graphics cards that are supported for AutoCAD will work well for AutoCAD Freestyle. A list of these supported cards can be found here:

If the hardware on your system cannot support hardware acceleration, turning it on may result in unexpected delays or errors.

While some gaming-based graphics hardware will work, they are neither optimized for optimal performance nor supported by the graphics hardware vendor for CAD use. If you encounter problems, Autodesk will not be able to obtain support from the graphics hardware vendor to fix them. Also, some of the new UI in AutoCAD Freestyle is created in the Microsoft .net platform. .Net utilizes Direct3D and video card hardware to visualize the user interface. This visualization is done even when hardware acceleration is disabled. We recommend you use a certified or tested driver for the best experience.

It will be helpful if you could provide your system information

Windows XP:

1.Click Start > Run, type: winmsd and click OK

2.Highlight the ‘System Summary’ and then click on File and Export...

3.Then you can save as a .txt file

Vista:

run msinfo32.exe on Vista.

You can also get it from Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information

file > save as a .txt file

Windows 7:

Thank you for contacting Autodesk Support.

I’m currently looking at your case and would like to look at your system information page.

To obtain sys info on Windows 7 please got to Start > search > msinfo32.exe

You can also get it from Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information.

Once system information page opens go to file > Export and save as a .txt file

You can attach the file to this post.

Regards,

Avto

hi -

It looks like you have a very old driver on your system.  We reccommend that you go to this site- http://www.intel.com/support/detect.htm to update your driver.  Please let us know if this does not help.
