Why is that my express tools work once?

What gives? I loaded 2000i onto my machine, then loaded the express tools
and they work until I load a file, then they fail to work again, period.
Whether I reload AutoCAD, or just quit, they never work again, what is the
problem here?
My biggest complaint is that I really need BURST to work, and I can never
get it to work in 2000i. I'm about to uninstall this and send it back.
Someone please help me!!!!!
