In autocad when you press the middle mouse button you pan around. Is there a way to edit those keybindings? if so, is there a way to bind commands to other keys/buttons?

Yes, you can change it.
Click Manage tab Customization panel User Interface. And there find and edit "Mouse buttons".
Press F1 in Electrical and look for text "mouse buttons" for details and pictures.
