Interesting Wire Numbering Issue

Hello,

So my issue with wire number has just popped up now that we have gottena  new 'server' at work here. I have ACADE 2013 set up for multi user environment, and it was working well on the old server that we used for file sharing. Now I've switched it all over and the issue with the wire numbers has popped up.

- I use just sequential wire numbering, ACADE default 001, just counts up.

When i number wires on one drawing, then go to the next drawing to do some numbering the wire numbers are duplicated. But if i delete the duplicated wire numbers, close ACADE and re-open, it will pick up where it left off and not duplicate the numbers.

Also, when using Terminal blocks it does  a similar thign, it doesnt update the lower right pane that says Terminals Used, so if i put 100 TB3 #7 on a drawing it doesnt appear in the lower pane until i restart ACADE.

Im sure ive missed a file setting, .env setting, or something along those lines.

Does anyone have any insight to this issue?

Thanks.

Have you tried deleting the project scratch database in your local User folder?

I had not,

Deleted it, and it seems to be a resolved issue.

Thanks.

How do we do that? What to delete. I sometimes have weird issues like that.

Thanks

the location of the scratch database on my computer is

C:\Users\Aaron K\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2013\R19.0\enu\Support\User

Yours will be similar, for me i needed to have hidden folders visible or else AppData isnt visible.

once in there look for a MDB file (Microsoft access file) and find the one with the same name as the project name you want to delete.

Delete it, when you open up the project again a new one is created from what i saw.

I just moved mine into a different folder incase it would have messed something up.

You can delete the project scratch database anytime you feel like it. It is actually healthy to do so. But save your drawings and exit AutoCAD Electrical before you delete it. There will be one projectname.mdb file for ever project you have ever activated. These files are always in your User subfolder at C:\Users\Your Login Name\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2014\R19.1\enu\Support\User. It is good to clean these out every now and then.

Hint: If you share a project on the network and several people are working on it simultaneously, each of you will have a separate project scratch database on your local drive for the same project. The scratch database is used to expedite internal processes within AutoCAD Electrical. The actual project data is stored in the projectname.wdp file and the drawings themselves. AutoCAD Electrical is the only program in this class which manages the data in this fashion. That is why it is very difficult to lose data with AutoCAD Electrical. You just about have to intentionally press your delete key and delete a drawing file to lose data.
