They already have a package that does what you are asking for in the Building Systems. It has 2d and 3d intellegent parts which can be tagged and scheduled. I would like them to add some of this functionallity to that package which would allow more tools for industrial type building projects.

Indeed, looks like that product has some of the core functionality (
http://tinyurl.com/pwiv ), I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you for the heads up.

    Michael.

I've been able to model these things ( c/w embedded intelligence
) since 1995 using applications I wrote, I just wanted to know
whether Autodesk had a stable off the shelf alternative. There
are third parties that can do much of this stuff ( I'd post the
name but then you'd nuke my post ), though I would personally
prefer to stay with my home grown stuff or an Autodesk product,
    the very reason I inquired.

So to summarize, you are saying there is no intent to provide
full 3D modeling with this particular Electrical package now or
in the future; it is an intelligent ( cross referenced ) 2D
    diagramming program.

    Thanks for the info.

"Competitive product" was one I wrote, and it is not for resale.
