symbol builder tool

would like to know the difference between the symbol builder tool in schematic tab and panel tab. Let me know if both the tools are same.

They are both the same. On the first screen where you define objects use the drop menu to select the correct attribute template based on what type of symbol you want to make.(schematic, panel footprint, nameplate, etc).  This will set up Symbol Builder with the correct attributes for each type symbol.
