Where did you find the instructions?

I cannot find how to change the slides in the Signal to Destination menu. We did get one of the blank sig/des options to work; but it still has the default image in it.

We use AutoCAD: Electrical 2008.

Thanks.

Hi,

What Electrical version are you using?
I know for sure it works in the 2008, I've done it several times at customers sites. Please follow the steps as outlined in the help.

Please be aware you have to place the files in the support folder of AutoCAD Electrical to get a good result

I am sure it is in the Help someplace; but I cannot find it. I can find all about how to use Source to Destination markers; but nothing in the help about customization.

I was able to create my own markers from another topic on this site, which someone else started.

It looks like the slide is suppose to be SIG_STYx.sld, where x is the marker option number; but I do not know where to place it.

I did find one in sig_slb.zip; but I placed my new SIG_STYx.sld in there and it does nothing. The zip file was located in the Support directory.

I am trying to replace the image for 5, so my file is called SIG_STY5.sld

I use AutoCAD: Electrical 2008.

Thanks again.

Hi this is the extract of sig_slb zip file. Hope this will help you.

How to add your own Signal arrow "style" to the slide library

The icon menu "pictures" that display for the various
SIG styles are just AutoCAD "slides" that are compiled
into a slide library called wdsig.slb. This file is
saved to your "c:\program files\autodesk\Acade 200x\Support\"
folder where AcadE's INS SIGNAL utilities and CONFIG utility will
find and access it.

To add a new "style" to this slide library, you must
first create an AutoCAD slide file and then rebuild the
slide library to include your new slide. This is illustrated
in the following four (somewhat confusing) steps:

Example: adding a new "style #5" slide to the library

1. Unzip sig_slb.zip into a dummy folder. This zip
contains the ".dwg" source files used to create the
original wdsig.slb slide library file.

2. Open drawing sig_sty5.dwg in AutoCAD and massage it
to make the image look the way you want for arrow
style #5.

3. Next type MSLIDE at the AutoCAD command prompt to
create a slide file called sig_sty5.sld in the dummy
folder created in #1 above. Overwrite the existing sld
file.

4. Run batch file wdsig.bat. This should re-create the
wdsig.slb slide library file. If successful, copy the
resulting file to your "c:\program files\autodesk\Acade 200x\Support\"
folder, overwriting the old verison. If not successful,
it probably did not find "slidelib.exe". A copy of this
program should be in the "c:\program files\autodesk\Acade 200x\"
folder.

Note: if the resulting slide doesn't look quite right,
maybe it's too small or off center, try this. Call up
your source drawing again. Resize your AutoCAD graphics
screen so that it is more square. Center your image
and reshoot the MSLIDE command. Recompile the slide
library and check the appearance. Repeat until you're
satisfied with the result.
