If you are trying to copy the active project you must not have a page from the active project on screen. If it is on screen it is locked out from a copy command. Activate the project you want to copy but click QNEW to open a blank drawing template before attempting to copy the project.

You cannot have the same drawing in two different projects. You pretty much have to just copy all the drawings in the project and make a new project.

It sounds like a permissions issue with the location you have placed the
drawings. Try doing just a normal File open from AutoCAD and see what
happens. Also, a single drawing can be tied to two different projects, you
just have to understand that when it changes in one, it changes in all
projects that it is reference, so in most cases, this is not a very good
solution. Generally, you will copy the drawing or project into a new
design.

I hope this helps!!
