You can try this... use Explorer and browse to your c:\documents and
settings\{your login}\Application data\Autodesk\....\Support\User folder.
Look at files with ".set" extension. Rename the last one (time/date stamp)
you see there, maybe add an "_" in front of the name so AcadE won't find it.
Restart AcadE and see if you can recover. I suspect that one of these
report-specific settings files is corrupted.

i think i have broken ACE 2006!
i was messign with the report format file setup feature, got all my settings
sorted and then started to generate a report using them. in the reports
window i went to hit the load format file icon and managed to uncheck the
project freshen/rebuild box and then hit the load format box in quick
succession. it just hung. i had to stop autocad using task manager.
now when i select the format file button, it just hangs. doesnt do a thing.
i have restarted ACE and the entire machine. no different. if i try and
import the file back into the report format file setup feature, i get this
error on the command line:
ERROR: Malformed string on input
what have i broken?
i tried loading in a different project (the ACE demo project) and activating
it to see if that helped, but its still the same.
