WD_M Block not found

I have been running acade2007 for a month or so and have yet to get a single project completed because of newly introduced bugs. This is one that won't stop me, but it did slow me down for a while. Using the same templates I have used for years with the same wd_m block and settings that have always worked in the past. I now get an error when I insert a destination symbol and click "ok and update source". the error comes up as "wd_m block insert not found on this drawing F:\path and drawing name" the referenced drawing name that comes up is the actual one where the source is residing. I have gone back and checked to see that the drawing actually has the wd_m block and it always does. this error will go away if I uncheck "real time signal and contact cross referencing" in the project properties, but this feature is nice have turned on. These drawings obviously have the wd_m block because despite the error it still can find the right cross reference text to display and also I can insert components without being prompted for insertion of the block. I also tried this using the new block out of 2007 and still had the same issue. I have done battle many times with the complexities of getting the cross referencing to work right because I have custom source/destination symbols, custom symbol libraries, custom menus and I also draw projects that are divided into sections etc. and have always been able to figure out why I was having trouble, but this time has got me stumped. Please autodesk, no more added features until you can get the bugs worked out the existing product. The software seems to have suffered from this new push to introduce a new version every year. 2004 and 2005 had bugs, but they are stellar compared to 2006 (CUI disaster) and 2007 (CUI disaster improved, but other bugs introduced). New features without adequate time to beta test them only serve to make the product less productive.

If you could send me a drawing directly I can see if I can find out what is
happening.

I was able to reproduce the problem you are having updating the source arrow
on another drawing by adding the single quote (apostrophe) character to my
folder name which was in the path for your project and darwings. It didn't
matter that it was on my hard drive. The database query seems to have
trouble with this character.

There may be other characters as well but I think if you rename your folders
to use just letters/number/spaces you should be all right. I believe that
this would cause problems in other features as well, such as wire numbering
in general. Until this issue is resolved I would highly recommend renaming
the folders. I will log this issue today. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Hello, Using ACADe 2017

I've been working in a project for several days now, and after running an audit last night, I am now getting this same error

---------------------------
AutoCAD Message
---------------------------
WD_M block insert not found on this drawing C:/USERS/D5701467/DOCUMENTS/OMM PROJECT/MDCO PROJECT/MDCO 2017/MDCO2017-ECD-1039.DWG
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

The drawing I have open is MDCO2017-ECD-1050.DWG, and I am inserting destination arrows which reference 1039.

Make sure it is in the path setting in your file options.

So, Audit says that the WD_M block does not exist, but you're able to insert symbols into the drawing?

can you type ATTDISP on the command line, and set it to "on". You should now be able to see the wd_m block attribute in the coordinate 0,0.
If you can't see it, can you share the drawing with us?

Remember to set ATTDISP back to "normal"

WD_M.dwg is a block, insert it into your drawing. if you are not on 2017 use the path your on. The underling problem is the options are not setup with this a path to C:\users\public\documents\autodesk\acade 2017\libs\dmat_schematic.

The WD_M.dwg is here on my machine.

"C:\\users\\public\\documents\\autodesk\\acade 2017\\libs\\dmat_schematic\\WD_M.dwg");
