Replacing # in a schematic?

Our engineers decided, in their infinite wisdoms, to produce one set of schematics for 2 near identical panels.
The only difference is that number 1 panel had to have wire numbers and part identification starting with a 1 and panel 2 starting with a 2..
So they decided to number all the wires and components etc with a #, to be substituted by the panel builders with the relevant number.
Now the client wants 2 separate schematics.
Is there an easy way of replacing all the #'s with the number 1/2 without having to manually change every wire number and component?

I would approach that problem by using the Export to Spreadsheet function.  Except I would use a database instead of a spreadsheet.  Then open that database and do search and replace operations to change big chunks of the data at a time.  (The components and wires are in separate tables.)  Once you have everything the way you want it, import/update from the .MDB file and ACAE will run through the project making all the changes to the affected drawings.

This isn't a tool I would put in the hands of anyone that isn't pretty careful about what they are doing though.  You could really screw things up if you weren't careful.
