Point to Point Wiring Diagrams

My company prepares avionics wiring diagrams for the airlines, which are point to point, rather than "ladder" or "control" diagrams. They must conform to Air Transport Associations standards (or Boeing's). We also use those wiring diagrams for manufacturing of new harnesses. Typically they look like multiple wires between circular connectors or "black boxes". P to P is referenced in both the old WD and new ACAD Electrical but no further info or tutorials that I can see.

The package looks really good, and I'm excited about it's possibilities. I know that I'll have to do some significant customization, and I'm OK with that. Just having a little trouble taking the first step with it. Any suggestions?

Point-to-point should not be a problem. You can set
up your drawing without "ladders" - you just set up either 1) X-Y grid reference
system, 2) X-zone referencing system, or 3) line reference number column along
the left side of the drawing without the ladder. Then you just start popping in
your custom, AcadE-smart avionic symbols and connectors (that you'll need
to convert over one time) and use the "spool of wire" tool to interconnect. From
dealings with other aviation industry folks, I suspect that you have a
special wire numbering system that includes system and gauge and color formated
into the tag. You can use the EDIT WNUM tool to manually assign these wire
numbers and then, when all is in place, you should be able to extract various
interconnection reports, BOM's and such.
