this is probably a basic autocad problem rather than autocad electrical specific
however i don't use vanilla autocad and rarely (never) got to that forum
trying to plot with prevously working HP 5100 printer
ACE 2007 SP2 with XP SP3
"THIS PLOTTER CONFIGURATION CANNOT BE USED FOR ONE OF THESE REASONS: THE DRIVE CANNOT BE FOUND OR THE DRIVER HAS A PROBLEM"
I can plot on other printers, no problem
With other programs, I can print to this printer
Hi,
AutoCAD may not be able to find the printer that is defined within the page setup of the drawing. Check the correct plotter driver is installed on your computer and a PC3 file is created by it. The page setup seems associated with that PC3 file.
You may see this behavior, if the PC3 file was created for a different version of the printer driver than what is installed on the computer. Try recreate the PC3 file that you are using, making sure to select the current driver.
Type PLOTTERMANAGER in command line and then click on Add-A-Plotter wizard.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
There are a couple of bugs here:
1) we have a shared network folder for plotter support files.
someone else in our group is testing AE2012
I suppose during the install, the shortcut to the "add a plot wizard" got changed from pointing to 2007 location to 2012 location
since I don't have 2012, the shortcut points to nothing
e.g. For me, running 2007, the "add a plot wizard" should point at "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AcadE2007\addplwiz.exe"
but instead points at "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2012\styshwiz.exe"
so the 2012 install on our shared platform messed with some files
2) More importantly, when I run the "ADD A PLOT WIZARD" it crashes
