The lookup file supplied for this, schematic_lookup.mdb, comes with only a
small amount of symbol mapping. The symbol mapping works differently than
the Schematic -> Panel which works strictly on catalog data. Mapping is as
follows:
1. find MFG/CAT match
2. find WDBLKNAM match, i.e. matches the value of the WDBLKNAM attribute or
xdata on the panel symbol
3. find match based on DESC1, DESC2, DESC3 values on panel to the
FUNCTION_DESCRIPTION field in the database
For terminals it also does a match on a category, i.e. a terminal with a
temrinal number or follows the wire number.
Then it should bring up the Insert dialog with a list of possible matches,
or None if no matches made. The dialog should also have an option to select
from the Icon Menu, or Copy Component.
As far as modifying the file, you can use the Panel Layout -> Database File
Editor -> Schematic Database File Editor option or MS Access.
I will log that the Help file needs more information regarding this feature.
Hope this helps,

When I select Insert Component(Panel List), I get an extract of all panel
related parts(MFG values have been assigned). OK so far. Then I select a
Panel Component to insert into a schematic drawing. Next dialog box comes up
blank. It cannot find the associated schematic symbol to insert. What file
is this and can it be modified using an Electrical tool or only thru
MSAccess. Not really clear on the working relationship of this feature. Help
file is not straight forward on explaining it.
Thanks
