Multiple Layouts

One of our clients requires dwgs to be on multiple layout pages with
viewports to different areas of modelspace schematics.

I have found that the Title Block Update will not automatically do an update
of these extra layout pages without going into the
dwgs in question and changing to the second or third layouts.
Also Sheet numbers tend to miss these layouts.

Does anyone know of a way to make Electrical take note of these extra layout
pages when doing a Title Block Update and
sheet count?

Regards Brad

Brad,

Title Block Update not looking in other layouts is a known issue. The
workaround at this time is to check the box to activate each drawing to
process. I am not sure what you mean by the sheet numbers and sheet count.
Are you asking if it will count these up when it presents the sheet maximum
value in the title block? If that is what you mean, no I am afraid AcadE
does not do that.

Hi Pat,

What I've found is if a dwg has multiple paperspace layouts, the title block
update only works on the first instance of the paperspace. I haven't tried
this with the opening all dwgs ticked yet though.
The other problem is you only have 1 dwg number for the entire dwg file,
therefore when you do an update each layout in that dwg returns the same dwg
number, instead of having their own individual number as per the dwg
attached.

It would make sense for Autocad to have the dwg properties ask for items
like a dwg number or sheet number for each paperspace layout in the dwg
properties. This would be a great help as there are those companies out
there that require all dwg's to be in paperspace. The attached dwg is as per
a clients specifications. The only time we use paperspace normally here is
for GA or layout dwgs. This is because we draw everything at a 1 to 1
scale. We also only have a p/space layout per dwg.
