Using the Modify Symbol Library is the way to go so that when you insert the
symbol they have the desired font and size. If you run this and then isnert
these on a new drawing do they come in with the correct font and size? If
so, then it is probably an issue of when you insert another instance of an
existing block on a drawing it does not go out and look at the library
symbol it really inserts another instance of the block already in the
drawing which was defined with the other font and size. I would suggest
using the Swap Block on your existing drawings. When you run this command
use the Library Swap option. This should swap in the newer symbols with the
desired font and size.

I am trying to get my text height and font changed on my symbols and I can't
find a good way to do it. If I'm right, I can do it two different ways. The
first by placing my symbols in the drawing and then perform a Change
Attribute Size and Change Style under Project Wide Utilities. This works
fine but every time I edit or add a symbol to a drawing I have to repeat
this step afterwards and it requires too much time.
The second is to perform a Modify Symbol Library from the Components menu
and change the entire library. I have tried this approach twice and it seems
to go through the library and modify the symbols but when I place the
symbols in the drawings they are back to their original text height and font
type. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
For reference: Under my Project Settings Schematic Libraries I have
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2007\Libs\jic125 and four other libraries
(Pneu_iso 125, hyd_iso125, and PID). When I do the Modify Symbols I am
selecting the jic125 library to modify only. (Yes, I am making a backup of
the library).
What am I doing wrong or is there a better way to change the font and text
height on the symbols?
