Manufacturers Catalog

When I insert a component i can give it a part number but I only seem to have Allen Bradley parts. Is there the option to install other manufacturers part number into the catalogue libs i.e. Telemecanique, Klockner etc

regards
Shaun

Click LOOKUP and Add New Record. When you enter a new MFG and CAT value ACADE will add a new table named for the new MFG. The next time you do a LOOKUP your new manufacturer will appear as an option in the Manufacturer list drop-down box.

That would be ok if i wanted to add an item one at a time but does, for example the whole telemecanique manufacturers catalogue database not already exist somewhere as the Allen Bradley one does?

I am sorry Shaun but being new to acade I thought that as well. It is not
the case. There is no catalogue list available for Telemacanique or many of
the European produced products.
I am sure that in the fullness of time someone from Autodesk will suggest
that they respond to demand on this issue and if there is not enough demand
then the catalogue is not included.
Some time ago Schneider (the present owners of Telemecanique) produced their
own AutoCAD symbol library However this is now not available and at present
they do not intend to produce one for ACADE.
There was a chap selling symbol libraries for telemecaniqe and Omron on
eBay. However I am not sure if they were only compatible for AutoCAD
mechanical and not the acade version.
I myself intend to purchase this library and I will let you know if it works
on acade.
Sorry I could not be of more help.
It may be worth asking the question "Has anyone produced a symbol library
for telemecanique compatible with acade maybe for their own use and if so
would they be prepared to share it with other acade users?
Come to think of it. What about the idea of creating a shareware type symbol
library list for manufacturers not included in the acade package?
I would be interested to see if there is any interest in this idea.
