List of "Family" codes and drawing names

Is there a list of the family codes and what they are short for? Some are obvious like SS for Selector Switch, but others are not. Also is there a naming convention for drawings in the symbols folder? I think I have some of them figured out like HSS113, would be a "H" Horizontal, "SS" Selector Switch, "1" First contact, "1" N.O. contact, "3" three position. As I am adding drawings and items to the databases it would be helpful to have a document on how all this was formated.

I would be just a little careful in naming your library parts. The "1" you mentioned [1the 4th character in a library part name] as the "1st contact" actually means it is a PARENT, or a STANDALONE DEVICE. A "2" in the 4th position would mean it is a CHILD DEVICE, 'NOT' the 1st contact as you mentioned. VERY IMPORTANT to get the naming conventions down, and the parts will interact with each other [i.e. Parent/Child].

The naming convention is specified in the help
file.  Also, if you use Black Box Builder (the Electrical packages symbol
builder wizard), it will supply you with a name following the naming
convention.  If you use this method, keep in mind that the name it supplies
you, you can modify anything after the underscore.

Go to HELP > ELECTRICAL HELP TOPICS > CHAPTER

There isn't a list of the existing family
codes in the documentation. I went through the Appendix A
page by page and assembled them and put them
in a excel file, to which I add when adding
a new family.
I can e-mail the file to you - I'm not sure how
to attach it here.
