AcadE specifically looks for this on the source and destination arrows. I am
afraid this is not supported at this time for other symbols. You can set
this up in the Cross-Reference setup but then it would appear on each
reference. For example, if you set your cross-refference format to "Line %N"
and there were 2 contacts for the one parent, the XREF would be Line 1234,
Line 5678. I am guessing this is not what you wanted.
Sorry I couldn't be more help. I can log this as a wish item.

Hi,
I am using ACE 2009. I have been using source and destination arrows. When
I look at the underlying symbol for a source arrow, I see that the XREF
attribute has its prompt set to the text "to". When the symbol is inserted,
the XREF tag takes on the value "to 1234" where "1234" is the destination
reference number. Somehow, the text in the prompt is automatically inserted
before the actual reference number.
I would like to do something similar with my own parent and child symbols.
I have used the symbol builder to create a parent symbol. I have also
created a corresponding child symbol. Both my parent symbol and my child
symbol includes the attribute XREF. I have set the prompt for these XREF
attributes equal to the text "Line". When I insert my symbols, I would like
my XREF's to appear as "Line 1234". Instead, I am just getting "1234".
Can anyone tell my why the prompt text is included in the XREF when I use
source/destination arrows, but it is not included with my own custom parent
and child symbols?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Paul
