Icon menu wizard

whenever I have to insert a blocks name to appear as the block for my symbol, I need to give the full path of the block(dwg where it is stored). If I give only the block name, and then insert component, it gives error as file not found.why is it so ?
Also please let me know what should be the scale of my symbol, so whenever it is inserted on A4 size paper I need not rescale it. Please tell me the correct and shortest procedure to do all these.

Are you referring to "schematic" blocks or "panel layout" blocks? For
schematics, AutoCAD Electrical has a series of "paths" it checks to try to
find the library symbol that is referenced by your icon menu button. If not
found, it displays the large dialog listing, in order, the paths it check as
it search for your symbol (and failed to find it).

So, to fix your problem, you need to either 1) move your library ".dwg"
symbols to one of these paths or 2) add your library folder to the list of
paths AutoCAD Electrical searches. You can do #2 in any of two ways.... a)
add the path to to the active project's "Symbol Libraries..." path list
(shown in the dialog edit box with paths delimited with ";" character), or
b) add it to the normal AutoCAD support file path list (AutoCAD OPTIONS
dialog >> "Files" tab).

Symbol scale default is set up on a per-drawing basis. Select schematic
"Drawing Configuration" command and select the "Scale" button in the upper
right-hand corner of the dialog. To make this permanent, you can go to your
A4 size title block drawing or template and set up this scale value. Then,
with each new A4 electrical drawing, your scale will be preset.
