I am a CE/EE student...what is AutoCAD Electrical good for?

I would like to ask you AutoCAD Electrical experts more about this product. The webpage says it would be good for designing control systems, and from the screenshots I see it looks nothing like I learned in 3 years of EE. What areas is AutoCAD Electrical good for? Computer engineering, power, controls, or anything like that? What can I do to learn it, given my apparently unsatisfactory EE background? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

AutoCAD Electrical is primarily a software tool designed to aid in the efficient and accurate design and documentation of industrial control systems. This can include, but is not limited to, switchgear, programmable logic controller hardware inputs and outputs, limit switches, thermal sensing, indicator lamps, selector switches, wiring, terminal strips, panel layout design, etc. These types of control systems are used in applications spanning everything from printing presses to automotive manufacturing, naval vessels to amusement parks, people movers to diaper manufacturing. AutoCAD Electrical provides intelligent design assistance powered by a relational database, making routine tasks repeatable with consistent accuracy.

Hey, I had the same reaction after I got out as a newly-minted BSEE... I
looked at an industrial controls wiring diagram and said "What are all those
series-connected capacitors for? (!!!)"
