[How To] Blend/Mask a part of an component

Hello,

I would like to know how I can blend out or mask out some parts of an component without changing the symbol in the icon library.

See attachment.

With kind regards,

You can use the wipeout command, draw a polyline over the part u dont wanna see.

With DrawOrder you can change what is in front or in the back.

And than WipeOut frame off.

I always put a text there in a not printed layer, with the remark that there is a WipeOut there.

I was about to suggest the Wipeout command too, but I'm not sure that is what you want.  Are you trying to use one symbol to represent say two different configurations?  In your example you want the bottom part to stay, just not be visible in all cases?

If so, then yes, Wipeout will work, but it is something you would have to do every time you needed it and would have to remember that it was there. Having multiple symbols seems cleaner to me.  And with the swap block command you could easily switch between the two when the time came that you needed that bottom part.

Thanks all, I did the following to get what I wanted.

Use WIPEOUT command, draw what you want to blend out.

To turn off borders do this:

WIPEOUT

Frame

Off

And borders are off

Do this again with Frame On so you can edit the wipeout again.
