File/Directory Structure

Is there a white paper or readme that summarizes the differences between the file/directory structures of VIA Wd vs. AutoCAD Electrical?

Something like this would be helpful to those of us preparing to deploy the new software.

This is not a Reply...
But a DITTO to the posted question.
We also need this information.
We were not included in the Beta Testing, so now we are behind. (I hate that!).
Note;...Anything along these line will be helpful to all of your loyal wd customers.

Bob and rjtcm 1 When you first place the AutoCAD Electrical 2004 CD in, you get the initial "install dashboard". From this dashboard you can access the AUTOCAD ELECTRICAL 2004 README.txt file. This file contains the information you are looking for as well as other information that you may find helpful. Here is an excerpt from the readme on the subject you are asking about: ---- New folder structure for AutoCAD Electrical ---- The folder structure for AutoCAD Electrical has changed dramatically from the previous release. Most of the common customizable files are now found in the folder/sub-folders: C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2004\R16.0\enu\Support\AeData Some of the files or file categories found in this folder or it's sub-folders include: AutoCAD Electrical environment file - WD.ENV Parts Database - default_cat.mdb Footprint database - footprint_lookup.mdb Language Conversion database - wd_lang1.mdb PLC Module data files - PLC*.DAT Sample Project files Other less commonly customized files can be found under the folder structure: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2004 Some of the files found in this folder or it's sub-folders include: Customizable AutoLISP files - .LSP - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2004\Support Symbol libraries - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2004\Libs Folder structure notes: - As with previous releases, you can move various support files and folder elements to a shared folder by manually editing the wd.env environment settings file. But if you use the new Network Install Wizard, you can set it up to easily move the symbol libraries and the most likely customized support files to a shared folder without any manual adjustment to the wd.env file. - By Windows default, the folder C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data is a hidden folder. If your Window's Folder Options does not include "Show hidden files and folders" then you will not be able to easily browse past this hidden folder. I hope this helps!! -- Regards, Jared Bunch Technical Support Specialist Autodesk, Inc "rjtcm1" wrote in message news:19317020.1075488144926.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum2.autodesk.com... > This is not a Reply... > But a DITTO to the posted question. > We also need this information. > We were not included in the Beta Testing, so now we are behind.
