FInd Replace Project Wide

I have 12 drawings that are the same the only thing different are the machine numbers so far I have been going through each drawing and doing a find replace by typing 'FIND' in the command prompt. This route only lets my change the machine numbers for the drawing that I'm am currently on.
Is there a way to do this globally through the entire project?

AutoCAD Electrical has its own Find/Replace command that will go through
your project if you wish. To run this, select Components -> Component
Tagging -> Find/Edit/Replace Component Text.

Pat,
Is there a way to find/replace DT or MT test values for the entire project? I have a note in many drawings that refers to an instruction that has changed. I would like to update that note in all sheets.

This is just regular text, not AcadE attributes? AutoCAD has a Find command
but I tihnk it can only be used on a drawing at a time.

If it is just text I would need to think of a way if you wanted to run it on
a group of drawings. Did you check Nate's blog in case there is already
something there that could do this?

I hade to do something like this. You might try running the "Projects", "Project-Wide Utility", No change on most of every thing and run a scrip that I have provided and the select the pages where you wish to edit. In the STI mode it will do it's usual thing and pop open the find and relace dialog. Once done all your finding and relpacing, close and it will open the next page. The good news is the find pull down will remember 5-6 or so last finds and relplaces. So pull down and do it till done and so on.

It's a bit combersome but usable. Just change the zip extention to scr, take a look and try.

Just saw the preview guide to 2009 and it looks like it's going to be part of that platform. Till then chunck thru it. Sorry. Message was edited by: Barqs1968

You can use srxText for scripted (batch-mode) string replacements - see:
