George;

The error being displayed is a file and location on your DVD Drive.
The file is a Microsoft Hotfix and may state that you do not have permissions to access the file.

I had one other location with this issue. The problem is not resolved on the one system due to another system was available for the installation.

Again this is system specific and is related to a Registry Setting or modification to a DLL, INI, EXE file.
It could also be a Group Policy Restriction.

We will need more data to resolve your issue.

1: What does the Application and System Events display during the time of installation?
Go to Cotrol Panel Admin Tools>Event Viewer to see

2: Try the installing from the Hard Drive
Transfer the media to the Hard Drive and install from there.

3: Log on with a new user account or as Local Admin during installation.

4: Make sure Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Norton Utilities etc. are not running during installation.

If you are a Subscription Customer, please log a Service Request so I can work through the FTP site.

Once we know the answer I will supply it for public knowledge.

Hey George;

What version of .NET Framework is in your Add Remove Programs?

"Lockback Shim" and "CLR lockback" are two items I have found on Microsoft's WEB site.

It looks like it is related to .NET Framework.

Let me know your status.

Hey George;

Could you supply the Acade2008Install.log and AutoCAD Electrical 2008 Setup.log located in the Temp Directory?

ZIP them up and attach it to the posting.

This could be related to the MSI, .NET Framework, Flash or many other things.
We have had issues with 1603 and Flash Player causing permissions issues during installation of Autodesk products.

We need more data from you to figure out what the source of the problem is.

Thanks;

Thayne
