Change Grid Reference origin on multiple drawings

Hey all,

I need to modify the grid reference origin point on about 100 drawings, is there a way to change it on every drawing at once without going into the properties of every drawing??

Thanks.

Hi Tee Dee,

I can think of a few things that would do this; a script or a macro, or a Lisp file.

I think the script file would be the easiest, you could write a script to change the grid setup then use the project utilities built into ACADE to run the Script on all page in the project.

Someone that is more script savvy could help you write one.

I know there are posts about scripts, there might already be one setup for grid spacing.

If you need to you can put all of the drawing in one project temporarily to apply the change, with the project

Thanks James, I found the solution, actually quite simple.

For anyone else this is how to do it:

1. Right click your project name > Properties > Drawing Format > Setup > change the settings as necessary

2. Select all the drawings in the project tree > right click on a selected drawing > Properties > Apply Project Defaults

Before doing this it might be worth using the Settings Compare tool to make sure you wont be changing any drawing specific settings you don't want changed.

Lol ok I mis- read your post I thought you were trying to change the snap grid not the ladder refs.

Glad you got that worked out.
