I need to re-number in sequential order the tag # of fused components that have been inserted on multiple drawings thought out the project if possible.
Ex. I have fuses (new FU1, FU2, FU3...) that are on a drawing that has been modified and need to sequentially renumber these fuses to have them properly sequenced in between the FU#'s that have been assigned through the project. I'd like the fuse components that need to be added in to the sequence (the FU1, FU2, FU3...) to be sequentially numbered starting at FU19 and continue FU20, FU21, FU22 and so on until my next drawing in succession in the project witch initially had the fuse component starting its sequence at FU19 and continuing. But these fuse components now need to be bumped out further back in the number sequence to accommodate for the newly added fuse components (new FU1, FU2, FU3...) . Is there a way to "retag/update" these fuse components project wide or will I have to manually change the fuse component tags? I hope that makes sense to somebody else...
If you do not mind retagging everything, use the Component Retag and select the whole project. This will retag every component in your project including th new fuses that you added.
I would recommoned making a copy of the project prior to doing this incase something happens
If the fuses are only on a few pages (and you do not want to retag ewverything), you could fix all the tags on those drawings except the fuses and run the retag only for those drawings. Fix/Unfix allows a crossing window so it would not take long to fix all the tags and then unfix a few fuses per drawing.
Hope that helps.
