Cable from-to for mounting

On my circuit has a few cables. The report includes connection cable wires:
W1 - From U1: 1 to FW1: A
W1 - From U1: 2 to FW1: B
W1 - From U1: 3 to FW1: C

W2 - From U2: 1 to FW2: A
W2 - From U2: 2 to FW2: B
W2 - From U2: 3 to FW2: C

When assembling the product is not used individual wires, and the cable is laid entirely, therefore need a report as follows:
W1 - From U1 to FW1
W2 - From U2 to FW2

That is, should be reflected in the report, which components are connected to cable.

Can I get in AutoCAD Electrical such a report?
Maybe help User Post?
Thanks in advance!

This can be done via manual editing of the report, or by programmring an user post that removes all but one copy of all the cable tags.

Well, I hate AutoLISP, but sometimes you just have to bite it and get going.

So, here it is, my first User Post. This User Post will, in a Cable From/To report, remove all child symbols, leaving only the parent symbols and then, in theory, what you're after.

This was made with AutoCAD Electrical 2014, but SHOULD work with earlier versions.

Do as follows.

  1. You should find the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Acade 2014\en-US\Support
  2. In this folder you'll find many files, but take a backup of cablecon.dcl and cablecon.lsp
  3. Unpack the contents of the attached Cablecon.zip into this folder, overwriting the original files.

Now, as you run the report generator (Use the Cable From/To report), you should be able to press the User Post button and select the fourth option.

Here it is, running on a project I had lying around, with about 100 cables in it:

Oh... Did I mention that I hate AutoLISP :D?

Sweet!  I need something like this as well.  And it gives me a jumping off point for doing some other user post work myself.

Thanks!

Where do you add the VIA information for Cable From/To reports?  For example, if you want one cable VIA the AC tray and one VIA the DC tray between two of your panels?

Thanks.

I cheat with the cables and use a location code for the conduit for each cable I use:

+CON1

+CON2

Then when I run the report for +CON1 I only get the cables running in it.

For the End to End wiring I run a different report but select it for each panel end: i.e. +PEN1 to +PEN2. This will include wires and cables that connect the two panels.

There have been som major changes the lsp-files for user posts, so I had to do some changes to make my user post work in AcadE 2015.

Attached is an updates version.

Installation instructions as in this post: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-electrical-general/cable-from-to-for-mounting/m-p/4797875#M340...

Just replace "2014" with "2015" Smiley Tongue

AutoCAD Electrical 2019_RUS

There is no option “Remove all child cable markers”.

I can not find the Cablecon files.

@rhesusminus, can you help again?

In which folder should the cablecon files be located so that they are displayed in the dialog box?

Try this one.

Unzip those files in %APPDATA%\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2019\R23.0\enu\Support\User

Tell me again what should be the path for unzipping? I just have three folders in AppData: Local, LocalLow, Roaming.
