COMPONENT CATALOG UPDATE

Is there an easy way to populate the component catalog database besides manually editing an existing symbol? Is it possible to download the information from AB, GE, IDEC etc?
I just started using ACE2008.
Thanks,
Bob N.

Can someone at Autodesk please answer this question? And if the answer is "No", then please try to coordinate with the vendors. Give them a template file and show them how to make importing their data into the DB easier. Anything that makes it easier to buy their products should be a no-brainer for them and for Autodesk.

(And I already tried to find the answer to this item myself but neither Google search nor Autodesk Discussion Group search has yielded any insight.)

Thanks.

Hi Poushag,

We have a content development team that focuses on building content for
AutoCAD Electrical. This team does work with vendors to get their
information included in the catalog.

If you let me know what manufacturers and component types that you are
missing, I will get them added to the list.

Thanks,
Scott

Can you get the GE-Fanuc PACSystems RX3i series in there? If so, how many weeks might it take?

And the Toshiba V series model 3000

Thanks.

I've forwarded these onto the content development team to put onto their
list of content to work on.

Thanks,
Scott

Thanks for having a team that does this! We could use a more complete inclusion of AB and Bussmann products, especially terminals (1492-L3 and 1492-L3Q), current PLCs (ML1100) and switches. Message was edited by: Bhabu Kaji

I have asked this question many many times! Mark Flayler told me to post here. I would be ecstatic if Idec was added to symbol library and default database. Would also love to see Wago (terminal strips and components) ,as well as, Mitsubishi VFD and HMI.

Also---you should talk to your vendors about providing content TO Autodesk for inclusion. The more people who request this; either from Autodesk or the vendor side, the more likely we will get updated/new component libraries!
