My company needs to have our internal part numbers associated to the components in our electrical drawings, so we where using the USER1 field for this, however some manufactures are using the USER fields for their data. To remove the danger of our data interfering with existing or future manufacturers data we decided to use the TEXTVALUE field to represent our internal MRP part number for each component. We have appended to the TEXTVALUE field the following "HARPER_PN=YYY-XXXX" where YYY-XXXX is replaced with the actual part number such as CNT-1345. We have added the HARPER_PN entry to the default.wda file and added a hidden user attribute named "HARPER_PN" to all of the schematic and panel blocks and also added this field to the SET file for the BOM report. This seemed to work fine until we encountered a part with sub assemblies. None of the sub assembly parts bring in their HARPER_PN data! How can I fix this? Please help it's urgent!
