Adding new materials/components to catalog

I have been looking around in the user's guide for a a way to add new components/materials to the catalog, utilizing blocks we have established in previous drawings, giving those blocks information in the catalog such as part number, manufacturer, etc., but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. I read that it may involve the symbol maker somehow, but I'm not positive. Could someone help point me in the right direction?

To add data to the catalogue is easy.

First insert a component into a dwg
Then do a lookup
On the left hand side down near the bottom is a button labelled 'Add'. Click
on it
Fill in the data as required.
Click 'OK'

The information is now in the catalogue..

Another way is to directly edit the default_cat.mdb file using
Microsoft Access.

If you have a footprint to tie to the catalogue entry, you will need to
edit the 'footprint_lookup.mdb' file.
