I'm getting several error in AE2005 after it's installed.

One is a unhandled exception error EO6D7363 at address 7C57E592h associate with file:

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Acade 2005\Acade\wd_mdb.arx

Also, a wddemo.mdb file appears to be missing.

What do I do?

Do you have a previous version of AutoCAD Electrical installed or perhaps Via WD installed on your machine? What exact steps did you take that caused you to encounter the problem? Just trying to get a little more information on your situation before providing suggestions. Al,

I did have Autocad Electrical 2004 30 day trail installed before, but I uninstalled it before I installed ACE 2005 30 day trail. I also have Autocad 2000i installed on my PC (network version). I'm running Win2000 SP3.

Thanks

It could be the jet database drivers that AutoCAD Electrical uses. These drivers can be re-installed from a supplied install on the CD. The Jet drivers are in the file: JET40sp5_w2k.exe. This file is on the CD in the following location: \Bin\ACADFeui\Support\jet4sp5 You might check with you IT person there to see if there is anything on your machine that installing this Jet driver might interfere with before installing it. I have never ran into anyone having any problems with this though. This is a Microsoft Jet driver install. The missing file you mentioned in the original post is missing because this WD_MDB.ARX is required to create this file. Steve,

Thanks for the response. I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled the application and still have the same problem. When the application loads I get the following message (see attached screen shot jpeg). I also get this message when I issue any command (like "open project" or "insert rung". I'm down to 16 day on the demo and I haven't learned anything yet!!!

When I tried to install the jet engine file, I got the following message (see attached screen shot jpeg). Basically, it won't install because of the of the w2k SP3. It can only install on SP1. My computer only has MSOffice97 installed, could this be an issue with the jet engine?

Thanks for your help.

Steve,

Here's the Jet Engine error that I got when I tried to install the Jet engine on the CD.

I downloaded the late Jet Engine 4.0 SP8 from Microsoft's website. It installed but doesn't appear to help the problem. Another interesting thing is that if I try to open a *.mdb file from an Acade directory my system can not open it it MSAcess97. This is before and after the Jet Engine update. I get a dialogue box that says "unrecognized database format" appears listing the file that I tried to open. I'm wondering if this problem is contributing to my issue.

Nate, Steve, or Jarred can correct me here, but I think that the MDB is saved as an Access 2000 file. This will not open with Access 97.

Testsubject is correct, the .MDB files with Acade are saved in a Access 2000 format. Running AutoCAD Electrical with Access 97 installed should not be a problem, but I can't say for sure since this was not testing in the Acade 2005 release since Access 97 support was dropped because of it being so old. I will see if I can come up with anything else, but I don't have Access 97 to test with. What rights do you have on this system? Also, I believe that SP4 is out and I wonder if that might help anything? Other than that, as far as I can remember every time we had seen this wd_mdb.arx error updating the jet drivers, or old DAO component drivers fixed the issue. As Steve and testsubject mentioned, the database is shipped in 2000 format and Office 97 was not tested as it is 7+ years old now so we cannot be completely sure that, that isn't causing an issue. Maybe another user with 2005 has Office 97 installed also and can let us know if they are seeing this issue...... -- ---- Regards, Jared Bunch Technical Support Specialist Autodesk, Inc. -------------------------------------------------------- "Steve Kemp (Autodesk)" wrote in message news:413616b5$1_2@newsprd01... > Testsubject is correct, the .MDB files with Acade are saved in a Access 2000 > format. > > Running AutoCAD Electrical with Access 97 installed should not be a problem, > but I can't say for sure since this was not testing in the Acade 2005 > release since Access 97 support was dropped because of it being so old. > > I will see if I can come up with anything else, but I don't have Access 97 > to test with. > > Steve > > "kcurry32" wrote in message > news:6200077.1094053794537.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum1.autodesk.com... > > Steve, > > > > Here's the Jet Engine error that I got when I tried to install the Jet > engine on the CD. > > > > I downloaded the late Jet Engine 4.0 SP8 from Microsoft's website.
