ACE2006 Service Error - terminal strip update

When I exit the "terminal strip editor" after arranging the terminal strips (sorting terminals and ..), ACE tries to update its database. It shows a "Project database service - An error has been encountered". Here is the error details :
***************************************************************************
File 'c:\documents and settings\user1\application data\autodesk\autocad electrical 2006\r16.2\enu\support\aedata\proj\h=3823.dwg' is inaccessible.
-----------
File 'c:\documents and settings\user1\application data\autodesk\autocad electrical 2006\r16.2\enu\support\aedata\proj\h=3823.dwg' is inaccessible.
-----------
***************************************************************************
When I enter the terminal strip editor after that everything is like the first time - total mess and nothing left from my previous editing. I am not sure what that means. This file is not in my project. In the folder 'c:\documents and settings\user1\application data\autodesk\autocad electrical 2006\r16.2\enu\support\aedata\proj\' there is no such file.

Hello,
I have a similar problem.
If I change a component on the schematic, it asks if I want to update the panel layout, and I get the following error if I try to update the panel footprint

File 'z:\proj\h=9049.dwg' is inaccessible.

Chad, what version of AcadE are you using? I believe this issue was resolved
in Service Pack 1 for AcadE 2006.

What version of AcadE are you using? I believe a similar sounding issue was
resolved in Service Pack 1 of AcadE 2006. If you have already loaded SP1,
what is your SDI setting?

I don't think this is the issue I was thinking of. You could try setting the
SDI to 1 and see if that resolves it but I am just guessing. What are the
actual drawing names that it should be updating?

I will see if someone better versed in the Project Database Service can step
in.

I am using ACE 2006, SP1, SDI=0. I get the same error with SDI=1. Original project filenames are 03-162-01.dwg ... 03-162-19.dwg. The file that is not accessable (in the error message) sometimes appear like h=386b.dwg or h=3823.dwg. I have many other projects with the same organisation and filename structure, created using ACE2004 or ACE 2005. There is no problem with update their database in 2006.

Thank you !

Try quitting ACE and deleting the database:
'c:\documents and settings\user1\application data\autodesk\autocad
electrical 2006\r16.2\enu\support\user\proj.mdb'
Then restart ACE.

If that database does not exist, can you type the following at the Command
prompt:
(wd_pds_get_project_db (ace_getactiveproject))
and let me know where the system states database is located?

I quited ACE, deleted the .mdb file and restarted ACE, but I get the same error. Now the inaccessable file is h=1cd0.dwg

Chad,

I seem to recall that we had an offline discussion about your project and
narrowed it down to a configuration setting from ealier releases of ACE?
Something to do with the WDP file?

Try this. Open the project WDP file (project.wdp) and for each file, remove
any path information that is not relative to the location of the WDP file.
For example:
* Let's say the WDP is in Z:\Projects\Demo
* In the WDP file you have entries (because of earlier releases) such as:
Z:\Projects\Demo\Drawing1.dwg
Z:\Projects\Demo\Drawing2.dwg
Z:\Projects\OtherProject\Drawing3.dwg
* Change the paths to be:
Drawing1.dwg
Drawing2.dwg
..\OtherProject\Drawing3.dwg
* Save the WDP file and retart ACE.

See if the problem persists.
