ACE for existing drawings

I was wondering if there are people out there that work on brownfield
projects where existing old drawings need to be updated.
My question is, would there be any benefit to have existing drawings updated
with ACE or would it be better to stick with straight autocad.
My job involves about 75% existing projects where old drawings need to be
updated and new ones created.
About 25% of the work we do is new ("greenfield") jobs but with client's own
standards and block libraries.

Anyone in a similar situation?

We have many, many dwgs that are "legacy" dwgs from an earlier version of AutoCAD. Depending on the amount of work needed on a dwg, we would go ahead and put in new ladders and then add whatever new parts were needed. At worst, you can still add new symbols to the dwg and edit it manually. The good news here is that you can run a report on the symbols added. ACE has many automated functions that make it preferable over base AutoCAD whether you are doing existing or new dwgs. Good luck.

You can convert existing ladders and make them intelligent using the
convert ladder tool on the conversion tab of the all tools palette.
