ACADE 2005 Help

I have used ACADE 2004 for 1 year and now we have upgraded to ACADE 2005. I have created custom symbols and slides and added them to the menu using the Menu Wizard. We have recently moved to a new office and now when I use the insert component, the menu doesn't show the components. How can I fix this? We are using a network version of ACADE. Please help.

It appears that your WD.ENV file is referencing a different Menu.dat file. The icon menu wizard acts on whatever menu.date file was set current when you made the additions. You can see this through project properties. Make sure your wd.env file has a line pointing to the correct menu.dat file. In fact, make sure your project is pointing to the correct menu.dat file.

Hi Barry,
Do you mean that your menu "works" as far as popping in your custom symbols,
it just does not show the image in the menu? If this is true, the problem is
(probably) that your slide ".sld" images need to be in the same folder as
the icon menu ".dat" file.

Hi Nate,

The default menu is wd_menu.dat right? I have the slide ".sld" images in the same folder as the icon menu ".dat" file. I still can't see the icon symbols in the menu. Now what?

Two things that I can think of that you can check:

1. Confirm that AcadE is accessing the icon menu ".dat" file that you
expect. After starting a new session of AcadE and invoking the "insert
component" icon menu for the first time, your command line should show a
message giving you the name of the icon menu ".dat" file that it is using.
The message might look something like this:

Reading C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application
Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical 2006\R16.0\enu\Support\ACE_JIC_MENU.DAT

Make sure your custom ".sld" files are in this same folder.

2. Maybe your ".dat" file has full, hard-coded paths for your slides and the
path is pointing somewhere other than where the sld files are now located.
Just open up the ".dat" file with an ascii text editor and take a look.

Nate.
