I edited a custom part by adding sizes, all the new sizes go to the bottom and after validate , save, regenpartcatalog the sizes are still out of order. How do you reorder the sizes?

    Thank you

The only way I'm aware of is to remove all the part sizes and add them back in the order you want them.

Now I am puzzled: I reordered the sizes validated, partcatalog regen and the sizes not only are not all there but there are sizes I did not define. Obviously I hosed up something but don't know how to track it down.? The validation file in the catalog folder says all was updated and the xml file has the new sizes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Ok! Confession Time!

I ventured into part builder 3 years ago with blind ambition, creating part families and parts. I kept is simple and have had success.

This is somewhat relevant to this thread in as much as I didn't know what I was doing <G>

Well, I had created A part family "B" for my custom parts and then I created the parts. I unwittingly however, created the parts in family "A",  but named the parts the same name as family "B". So when I thought I was updating the size list for family A I actually was editing the sizes to family B.

So, now I know what a family chapter is and better understand part builder.

Thanks for reading the thread and thank you Brian for solving part of it. And Seth for not thinking I am a complete idiot.

    Thank you
