Does anyone know how to shut off the highlight as the mouse cursor moves over objects? The constant flickering drives my eyes crazy.

Type OPTIONS and hit ENTER, click on the "Selection" tab at the top, and de-select the appropriate boxes in the lower left corner under "Selection preview".
