my crosshair keeps dissappearing wihile using 2012 civil 3d is there any fix for this

Was this drawing file previously used with two monitors, now using just one?

No I can be working and it will disapear in the drawing background but not in the tool bar menu

This probably occurs after a Save? Make sure the Visual Style Controls are on and visible (normally upper left corner of the drawing canvas), move the cursor along ribbon/menu until just above that control and then down over the control. Once the control highlights the crosshairs should return to normal.
