Zooming Cancels Save As command?

I am trying to "save as" a dxf several shapes in a drawing. Except that when I use my mouse wheel to zoom in, I get this odd message:
"xxx.dwg" has a command in progress.
Hit enter to cancel or [Retry]: *Cancel*
Never had this happen until this morning.
Any thoughts?

Is this a one-off, or every time?
Restart the program
Reboot the machine...
let us know what you've tried.
I first ran into the "command in progress" error when I was messing about in 3D orbit. Try searching the web for "Command in Progress", it's been around for a while.

Thanks for the response. I rebooted, still having the problem. I looked up some other pages, and the issue is not related to tables.
here is what I see if I type the 2 suggested check commands
Command: cmdactive
CMDACTIVE = 1 (read only)
Command: CMDnames
CMDNAMES = "SETVAR" (read only)
I've saved as a new drawing, same set of stuff. The issue is when I try to save dxfs from shapes within. Is the (read only) something to look into?

Sorry I missed replying sooner.
Don't think that's a problem. Some sysvars are editable and some are read only, just the way it is.
Sorry I don't have any more suggestions. Hope someone else can jump in here & help.
