What type of objects can be projected into a profile or section view?

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't find an answer anywhere on the Internet.  What type of objects can be projected into a profile view?  I know that points, feature lines, and multiview blocks can be projected with variable results.  I can't even find a simple list within Civil 3D's useless help.

I only have 2013 installed so this is from that installs help.

"You can project AutoCAD points, blocks, 3D solids, and 3D polylines; you can also project AutoCAD Civil 3D COGO points, feature lines, and survey figures. "

That explains why I can't project an alignment.  Darn.

I was trying to find a list that lets me know what objects can be projected onto profile or section view.

You can create a featureline from an alignment and project that onto a profile. You can also project profiles from an another alignment onto a profile.

Everyone is trying to make this way too complicated. All I wanted was a simple list like below.

    Autocad Points

    Autocad Blocks

    Autocad 3D Solids

    Autocad 3D Polylines

    Civil 3D Points

    Civil 3D Feature Lines

    Civil 3D Survey Figures

    Civil 3D Profiles

I don't think that was Neils's or anyones intent, but when you say you want to project an alignment - one has to ask ?

The list you have thus far seems like a good start. Imperical data will be your greatest resourse to hopefully expand upon that list

    Thank you

Everyone is not trying to be complicated. Everyone is trying to help.  Very often we come here with one idea of what we want to do, but it is not possible.  Others then help us to find a different way of getting to our goal.

I tried projecting a line, a polyline, an alignment, a circle, a feature line, and a point, and I had success only with the feature line and the point.  I found nothing, nada, zip when I was looking for a list of the items that can be projected into a profile.

I had some free time and I was playing with different styles and tools to try to figure out how to do things differently. Hopefully to figure an easier way for others to accomplish certain tasks.  Curiosity nipped this cat, and I was wondering if anyone else had any success to projecting certain items without having to use a work around.
