Visualization and surface style

I'm playing around with render materials and have the material assigned and the surface style to show only triangle in model view. When I go to Realistic view style should the not show? there must be an additional setting I am missing, any suggestions would be welcome <G>

Check the edge settings under the realistic view style, set to none.
