AutoCAD Civil 3D

Hi,

I am trying to insert some valves into my drawing and they have been provided in *.stp or step format by the manufacturer.  In help it says you can import them to civil 3d using IMPORT, but in Civil 3d the import dialogue does not have step files as an option under the file type drop down.

I am running Civil 3d 2012, and I am unable to install any software for a conversion due to our software restriction policies.

Any Ideas?

That is strange on a few different levels, but thanks none the less
